Our custom seat covers are made from fabrics such as polyester, pure cotton, or a cotton-polyester blend. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each fabric:
100% Polyester
Polyester is a synthetic fiber derived from petroleum. It is used in many applications, including clothing. Its main features include a shiny appearance, which makes the fabric more attractive, and its high abrasion resistance, making it ideal for those who need a durable cover (for work, children, pets, etc.).
100% Cotton
100% cotton fabric is made from entirely natural fibers. Its main features include a more matte finish, water and oil resistance (but not waterproof), and excellent breathability. However, it is more delicate, making it less suitable for use with children and pets, and not recommended for work environments.
Cotton-Polyester Blend
This blend combines the best features of both natural and synthetic fibers. The result is a fabric that is durable, breathable, and suitable for most uses (excluding heavy-duty work).
Faux Leather
Faux leather is particularly durable and easy to clean, making it an ideal choice for demanding and dirt-intensive applications (e.g., construction companies, plumbers, painting businesses, etc.). Drawbacks: On larger surfaces, such as a continuous rear seat, wrinkles may form due to the material's inherent tension. Additionally, it can cause increased sweating in hot temperatures.
To properly wash your seat cover, always start by checking its composition. Washing instructions vary depending on the material.
For 100% Cotton or Cotton-Polyester Blend: We recommend hand washing at 30°C rather than machine washing.
For 100% Synthetic Fabrics: Machine washing up to 40°C is possible. Avoid spinning and ensure all Velcro fastenings are secured. Use detergents without bleach and include fabric softener. Avoid using a tumble dryer, especially for cotton or cotton-blend covers.
